A Brief Recap

Up to now, this blogging journey has focused on one storyline cheekily named “Dom vs Sub” in the bi-line. A brief (not actually typographically brief) recap is in order as a bonus post before resuming the story in progress.

Some folks are joining the story at various points. This whole topic is a big writing experiment. In the spirit of expanding my writing and experimenting, let’s see if I can add funny bonus material to the featured story.

For those who are fans of the “Prologue” storyline, don’t worry, that will resume as soon as I can figure how to wrap up this exciting story in progress. The “Dom vs Sub” characters seem to have so much to say still.

Where did this idea come from?

The story took shape as I was having a chat on social media with a few friends about what is the practical real world application of the Dom vs Sub relationship of the bedroom. This left a lot of speculations and a lot of room for interpretation. In light of all of this, I thought I’d give my hand a try at writing in the genre of the discussion.

What I had not counted on happening was that I’d find the characters interesting at all. I took a “failed” attempt at writing from a few years back and did some minor edits. During the course of editing, ideas started to flow and concepts starting to emerge that I wanted to explore.

Before you know it, I’m way deep into a landscape filled with little twists and turns that is provoking a lot of chats with a few of my friends via social media. Now, I’m just running the story as far as it goes. Feel free to comment on the blog and leave your thoughts.

note: because I have no idea how response rates goes and all the bloggers I talked to screen comments to avoid having spammers fill their reply area with whatever… all messages are left for moderation… to prevent any unexpected commentary that could be offensive to anyone. On with the brief recap

The story started with the “Getting Up to Speed” post where the concept is introduced. This blog being a totally play area to engage in mature content in a tasteful way, the reader was warned that they may blush occasionally.

We meet the couple

The lady of the relationship is a modern era feminist who is determined to train up her man to be the ideal husband. He’s the good guy who just wants to make sure his lady is quite happy being in a relationship with him.

The problem they face is rather simple. She wants to be the boss. He has no desires to give up his pants and be led by her and whatever her whims may or may not be. He has his own mind and wants to carry out his own dreams.

The conflict arise over something rather innocuous in her eyes but a big deal in his. He hates snooping. She things it’s just verification of facts to keep the trust alive. They can’t agree on what trust is.

So the stage is set for what should have been a short story with an interesting play on words. Well, short it is not.

Plot Twist one

Things take a “Horrible Left Turn” when she is caught snooping through his jacket. She thought she had caught him entertaining a call by taking a phone number that she knew nothing about. To her, it was just a matter of keeping her man honest and aware that she was not asleep at the wheel.

Not only did he challenge her methodology, he flipped the script on her and proceeded to do the unthinkable. In this modern era, no man should get away with this type of behavior ever! It violated every single sense of her feminism. (you’ll have to read the post to know exactly what happened… I mean, it’s only fair)

While she learned a valuable lesson, she never forgot that she had to show him who was boss. She got smart. She got wise. She flipped the script back and moved forward with greater confidence that she was right and smarter than he was. Not taking away anything from the fact women are smarter than men… he knew he could not assume that this matter was done with and resolved.

Things get real

The couple eventually move on and continue their lives. She feels vindicated. He is waiting his time. The opportunity to put to the test a series of hypothesis came with “The Instructions”.

The plan was for him to provide a wonderful birthday experience. It was all hinged on her ability to not snoop on his plans. Despite all the precautions he took, his daydreaming of making love to her was interrupted by a message that she had not actually followed instructions.

This brazen challenge now needs a strong swift response. But it’s her birthday. What is a man to do. Can’t ruin the plans and surprise out of anger from not having had his lady listen. She on the other hand is growing in confidence that she’s without match.
