Introduction: Before Today’s Story…

At this point in time, I’ve been writing a lot. Not just for this blog, but across several blogs I write for. I’ve been working on a few works of fiction that I’d like to have published this year. I’ve also chatted a ton with people on social media. (also working on a few custom stories for fans of mine… and people I’m fans of)
This is is tapping the limits of my ability. This introvert needs to recharge. To give a concept of how much writing I’m talking about… all of last year… I’ve written about 130,000 words. Yes, that’s a lot. No, I’m not insane for that.
Back then, I was just trying to see if it was really possible to be good at writing. I’ve been blogging (elsewhere) for nearly four years. Last year was the first time I took writing serious and tried to make something of it. This blog here is about six months old. The last blog I created (Love’s Perspective) just reaching it’s first year anniversary. There are others, but I won’t digress on those.
As of last month, I’ve written well over 230k words. My mind, understandably, is getting a little tired. I do have a full time job. I do have children. I am happily married. I’ve got other gigs I do. I have other side hustles I’m working on.
All told, this is a project of passion, love, fun. Not a “must do by this deadline” type of project. Also, I know some readers find these very long episodic stories amazing while others tire of it. So, what’s a writer to do? Take a break of course.
But…
But…
But…
What about the avid readers of my work? Don’t they count too? Of course they do. I’m not going to leave you all hanging for a month with nothing to read. No. Not that kind of break… nor am I that mean.
Sure, my other readers from my other blogs think I’m being mean by not producing like I used to, but they’ve seen me around long enough (I hope) to know I’m not going away.
What’s in it for the reader?
What I’m going to be doing this month is sharing a few stories from a contributor. She started me down the road of self-discovery that gave rise to this blog. That will be a story for another day. For now, just want to thank her immensely for the help. She has been one of the sweetest friends a guy can ask for. Ever so patient with my introversion and insecurities.
Starting next week, she will get a proper introduction, a proper kick off. Then, you’ll get to enjoy several of her contributions (not all). When I resume my writing efforts, I will mix in her contributions with the stuff I’m creating so that there is more diversity for you all to enjoy.
Because this post is way too short for the my loyal fans, I’m going to share one of the very first stories I’ve ever written… that this contributor helped nurture and encourage… on the next page. Enjoy this slowdown in my writing. Next month, I plan to pick up the pace with a more refreshed mind. Feel free to leave me a comment at the end so I can know what you think of this blog so far. Or leave me a comment about what you’re looking forward to seeing from this blog. Thanks a ton for stopping by and reading all that I share.
