The Story Behind Pink

welcome to the introduction of a series built around the word pink. Not the typical storyline for this blog… however… the blog has been about the author experimenting with different ways to tell a story. This won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s purely fictional. No persons were harmed in the story. Despite the way the story unfolds… happy ending? Well, wait until the end someone does get a spanking (but not necessarily the way you’d expect)

Mr and Mrs Edward were enjoying a lovely cut of tea while sitting on their floral print couch. It was a modern stitched brown base color spring like floral print. The many hues of pink seemed to speak more than the greens and yellows. It had been Mrs Edward’s idea. Not that Mr Edward had any hopes of getting his black leather couch ever.

Their conversation were about nothing yet everything this Sunday morning. Life had been good to these two lovers. They had come from nothing. They had built up everything. The had fought back from many setbacks. Now, they were ready to face the latest chapter.

However, before the word retirement could slip from their mouths, there were many other things to handle well before that. And this was what was causing the conversation between these two to border on the edge of conflict.

Mr and Mrs Edward did not agree on why their children ended up the way they ended up. Not that their children ended up in a bad place at all. They were very successful and very well respected members of their community. They kept in touch with their parents and three weekend a month, they all hung out together like old times.

By every single metrics, this huge family was becoming a legendary pillar of their community. Mr Edward was pleased. He felt he had done right by his family. He could not understand why Mrs Edward had issues with how he had handled his part of parenting. If anything, she had dropped the ball a time or two and he had to step in with a strong hand to correct matters before things got out of hand.

Alas, Mrs Edward would never give him any credit. It would forever be his fault that things didn’t end up the way she wanted the to end up. Until that day, this would be a sticky point in his side.

Intro to Pinks

Mrs Edward was happy that most of her children were happily married. She had worked very hard to raise her children to be upright, honest, moral, savvy, smart, educated, and successful. To her, the only way to be happy in life was to be well adjusted and married. Without these two, nothing else would be as good.

The only thing better than being well adjusted and married was… being well adjusted, married, and with children. But that was a different matter for another time.

She could not understand why her husband would not feel the same way. She had made sure their home had been a paradise. She ruled with an iron fist and allowed him to feel like was the king of the castle.

Every self respecting anyone knew that the woman ran the home. Only fools thought differently. Over the years, she had to straighten out the foolery that tempted her husband. He got these weird ideas in his head from time to time. Usually when some hot floozy would come into town and gas his head up with stupidity. She always corrected that out of him fast.

There was no way her children would grow up to think that a home was operated and managed by a man only. It was a team effort.

Her line was simple.

The man is the head of the home… the woman is the neck that tells the man where to look. She holds the truest power

Sadly, it had taken a long time for her man to get the message. This was the cause of some friction in their relationship. They had a child who seemed to think he was the head of any home he would build. Nothing she did could help him see the light.

Mr Edward loved the fact his lady was strong. She was a veritable force to be reckoned with. No one could stand to her. She moved to her own beat. She made her own choices. If anything ever happened to him, he knew his family would be just fine.

His wife was both a man and woman wrapped in one. She swore up and down that she was the lead of the home. He knew better. When push came to shove, his word won out.

To be fair, he rarely ever had to put his foot down. He had the kind of woman who just knew exactly what had to be done and how to get it done. His role was just to support her in the rare instance she needed support.

The down side to this, whenever he had a new innovative idea, it was essentially like fighting several world wars to get it off the ground. Especially if she thought it was a bad idea.

Like, all her children had to be married by a certain age or else they were total failures. That idea, no matter what he did, was not going to change. And this would cause far more trouble than was worth. Unlike all the other battles they’ve had, this one probably would end up being his first catastrophic loss.

If spanking his wife would have solved this madness, he would have had the victory a long time ago. But, for all the tricks and chains they had played with, Mrs Edward would not be happy until all her children were married on time.

To make matters worse, their oldest was the last stand out who had not shown any signs of wanting to be married, let alone date. No matter what Mrs Edward did, her son refused to entertain love. And he was growing older fast. It would not be long before no one would even touch him, she feared.

Where had she failed? Why had she failed? All the others were very happily married. But her oldest… how did she fail?
