V8 of Eights – Chapter 3

V8 of Eights part 3

Stacy was loving her journey with her new man. Things were always hot. Always an adventure. Mark kept things progressive. He never was pushy, he never asked her to do things she didn’t want to do. He was very respectful, calm, honorable. He was the kind of man you’d see in older black and white movies… the ever gallant jovial and always a gentleman. He had a streak of chivalry about him that just made him all the more delicious.

They had met rather abruptly. She always enjoyed recounting how he came in with the mission and purpose to sweep her off her feet. The man had walked into the hall with confidence, swag, and hotness. She saw instantly a man who was worthy of her time. Not that she had an issue getting guys to notice her. They were the types who had money and tried to buy her loyalty instead of getting to know her.

Mark had taken the right steps to get to know her from day one. He had owned his space and was not cocky at all. Granted, his level of confidence in his ability to get her to agree to go on a date was way more than she was used to. She was his priority. Once he had secured her word, he moved on with his agenda.

Stacy was keenly aware of this purposeful living from their first official date to now. This was the pattern that made Mark awesome. Even with all his business trips, he always made a point to see her. Sure, he graduated early and was swept up in a whirlwind career, but he knew how to make her feel more important than a high paying job.

This was such a breath of fresh air. The few relationships she had had in the past, she had to fight for affection and time from the men she dated. They were very self-absorbed. They saw her as an addition to their will. This was not cool for her. She was reluctant to trust men because she didn’t want to be part of that trophy wife mess that was so prevalent in her social strata.

Mark loved to travel but was also very mindful of his humble beginnings. The man worked hard to remain grounded. She adored that about him. She was so happy that Meg had taken the time to screen all the suitors she had. Meg was the friend that was much closer than a twin. Once they graduated, Meg and Stacy had a pack to take their careers to the next level independent of what their guys were up to, just in case the guys turned out to be just a few good dates.

At the rate Mark was winning her heart, she felt the pack would not be necessary. She was falling rapidly and very deeply for Mark. Meg was doing OK with her man too. However, the spice that Meg was capable of giving, Todd was not quite getting. Todd was no Mark. Todd was just a good man. While the two girls rarely compared notes, it was clear that Mark was a diamond in the rough. Of the four of them, Mark had come from modest and humble beginnings. He was singlehandedly creating a massive turn around from the ground floor. The man was on a mission.

When Stacy got a text that Mark was going to be in town for the weekend, and he had a surprise waiting for her, she smiled so much her cheeks hurt. Clearing her calendar totally as a no brainer. She was going to make sure she gave her man a royal welcome back. He’d been on the road a few weeks and had been working extra hard to reach a bonus milestone. Like a giddy little girl, Stacy started fussing over what to wear for the occasion.

Mark had not told her what was going to take place. Unlike most times when he told her of the plans in advance, he just said that it was going to be a short visit. So many options. So many possibilities. Mark always showed her off and romanced her the way she always wanted to be treated. He pampered her as if she was the very oxygen he needed to live. All while still being very grounded and level headed.

The ring of her phone snapped her out of her giddiness. She saw his name and started to flow with more joy. He probably had some news about what they were going to do. This was a chance to ask him what to wear and what to expect.

The tone in his voice was not cheerful or upbeat. The man sounded quite tired. He probably had a rough set of projects and deadlines. She put her most upbeat voice she could to help elevate his mood. Then, he dropped the news that snatched her smile off her face. He was not going to be able to do the whole weekend. In fact, it was a nip and tuck type of visit. He was being called back to work to start on a new project immediately.

No wonder he was sounding so down. They had gone too long without seeing each other. He was flying in and out the same day. No major all weekend fun. He said he was still able to show her the surprises he had and still give her a good adventure, but it was critical that she show up on time. He gave her a few more instructions that she was more than happy to follow… as it was a clue as to what they would be doing… he had given her instructions on what to wear for their special outing.

While she did her best not to pout and complain, he did pick up on her desire to have more time from him. Mark assured her that in time, he would be past the grunt stage of his journey and they’d have more time to see each other. This soon that Mark talked about felt like an eternity away. Their awesome young relationship was not needing the long distant feeling that was casting shadows over them.

Stacy knew just what summer dress to wear. Mark had a weakness for her style of summer dresses. This one was a bit of a pastel pink. It held her securely around her bust and flowed beautifully below the waist. While she liked his input on what shoes to wear, he had left the choice of sandals entirely up to her. That gave her way too many choices, as she had too many shoes and could never find one to wear. He had asked for minimal to no make up. While she wasn’t big on that, he had never mentioned it before.

She smiled a wicked smile. He didn’t want her to wear any undies. That only meant one thing, he was ready to explore a little more physical bonding, even though they had agreed not to have sex before marriage. Given how her summer dresses were, she hoped that there was no stiff breezes of any kind, as she would be doing the Marylin Monroe pose frequently.

Mark was certain that the gears of creativity were turning in Stacy’s head. He also knew that Meg would get a call shortly. The choice of outfit meant that Meg was on wingman duties until he was able to meet with her. Not that it was necessary, but that was how those two rolled. Meg was not going to let another man make a move, especially when Stacy was going to be looking so hot.

Mark checked his heart once more. He loved how intensely drawn to her he was. He didn’t mind the lustful overtones and undercurrents. However, he really could not afford to live in lust. That level of passion always managed to burn the heart up. He had seen guys flame out because their lust was not checked. He rather would love Stacy comfortably than live in burning lust for her.

Stacy appeared unaffected by this. Mark was convinced that Stacy was just slowly warming up to him. She never let on that she too was burning up with passion and lust for her man. She was biding her time as one who was all too used to guys flopping at her feet.

During the weekend, Mark had communicated to Stacy that he wanted to meet her in a cabin in the woods. It was a special place for him and he wanted to show her a thing or two about his childhood. This overjoyed Stacy. She was getting intimate access to her man and his past in one swoop of a visit. The man was comfortable being vulnerable with her, a move that drew her all the more to him and made her at ease opening up to him.
