Before the Darkness
Humans are very intuitive beings
They can pick up on the slightest change of feelings
If only they’re in tune with what their hearts are beating
Society has taught women to be more finely tuned in listening
There was a flicker of an eye
At first, barely registered to the untrained passerby
Something was different, the tummy didn’t lie
What had been a pass of humor proved to be a bad roll of the die
He was not the same
Even withheld on calling her babe
Somehow the fire they had… had grown tame
The romantic stallion was now acting lame
Pulling back and pausing
She turned her full attention on him
Keenly watchful to understand the causation
Her man performed all his duties without accusation
But this were different… cool…
As if he was no longer interested in making her blush
Almost felt mechanical to the touch
Yet, there was a hint of restrained passion calling her much
What had happened, she wondered
The once vocal knight was brooding
Whatever was causing him to ponder
It definitely shifted things to moody
She had seen this before in other men
Why was he to be any different than what she had known then
Pulling back, not trying to get hurt by angry hands
She played everything cool, hoping he’d change his mind and kiss her hand
When she saw how he dealt with other women
During this cooling off period
Her eyes turned green with a hint of jealousy
Not that she wanted to be in their seat of melody
She watched ever closer as he moved more routinely
This was different… something dark… sinister maybe
A different type of darkness was falling outer-worldly
She was keeping a very close eye… wondering if she’d remain his lady
He still made her skin crawl with desire
Whenever he touched and caressed
Tongue always finding the perfect spot
Even when lacing her sweetly tight in a corset
Yet his eyes failed to connect
The spanking felt delicious but the soul were on disconnect
Her eye clouded with discontent
What was her man up to and why was he so quiet?
Pulling back, she sat and watched
Her hands on the trigger
Ready to pounce and protect her heart
Something had changed and he only knew what
Sharing below the words that graced social media… and introduced today’s blog posts. Figured it’d fit better here than later as a big massive post. After all, it’s 25 days of poetry. Enjoy the social media teasers.
“Before the Darkness”
Her senses tingled
Her happiness strangely fizzled
He had lost his giggle
Intuitively she listened
Reflexively she hesitated
His mood appeared confiscated
This glimmer had faded
Something was off
She had seen this before
His attention must have shifted
This bish at work must have whispered loud enough for him to listen
She was a lady
She did not chase
After all, she had given him fair taste
Why didn’t he show haste to grab her waist
He bowed to the demands of work
His smile devoid of usual fire
Even his kiss lacked luster
Not one to be played a fool
She waited and looked
Stood by to see if he’d notice
Angered that he seemed a novice
Wasn’t he the one who ignited her fire?
Pulling back, she sat
Planning, thinking, what to pack
If her knight had checked out
She sure wasn’t going to be caught out
Something was wrong
It wasn’t her
He wasn’t saying
Darkness was brooding
Hope against hope
She resisted the urge to grope
She didn’t do that trope
A lady never chased… wasn’t dope
But why did he still make her skin crawl with desire
Holding her at his beck and call
Frustrated, she turned her back
She’d sit pretty and wait
Just long enough to pack
Before the darkness that was sure to fall…
“Before the Darkness”
Something was different.
But what… “before the darkness”
His touch still raised goosebumps
Oh how she cherished it so much
His lips burned honey and made her weak
How she loved every bit of it
Something was different
Intuitively she knew it
His eyes ever steady
Always on the ready
She couldn’t explain their lack of sparkle
She had seen this before
After a great round of sex
The guy would compare, despair, and fade
She was not going to chase
That was not the lady her mom raised
But why had things changed…she pulled back to get a better view
Keeping a sharp eye on every move
Something was different
She just knew it reflexively
Pulling back
Packing her things tight
Ready to leave… but not last
Why had he smelled so good
Revving up her sinful moods
Causing her to brood
Over the distance of his groove
Something was different
Sinister even
Mean instead
But…
What…
She pulled back
It was self preservation
It was his problem
She could not sit and solve them
She watched carefully
Intuitively
There was a darkness of sadness
She had to get out before the darkness fell
Something had changed
Brought heel to her door
This time… she was going out the back
She had seen this before
That moment when darkness falls…
Now for the images that graced the social media
