A little reflection

A Little Reflection

The last time she felt so distant
She had learned precious lessons in an instant

Men, fickle as they are, learn best
When their instinct is turned against their vest

To that end, seeing how he kept quiet
She started to put herself first for the best

Dressed to impress
Not for others, but for herself

She let go of the relational stress
If he wanted her, he’d have to put forth his best

Her senses picked up on his arrested attention
Puzzled that he didn’t make a predicable move towards affection

His attention must have gone off to another lady
Maybe it was that new girl… Mercedes

It was his job to fight for her hand
She was not one of those gals who grubbed after a man’s hand

Her dignity, now stronger, couldn’t accept the indignity
Why was he ignoring her, as if she needed to ask for sympathy

Time to place herself on the market
Maybe some healthy competition would move him

The more Derrick noticed and complimented
The more stoic things got between the two of them

She needed to understand what was going on
Even though everything she did clearly was turning him on

Yet, he was acting as if he was too busy and too tired
Even their favorite paddle sat by the bed idle

She gave him on last tug with a heated sensual side saddle
His heat ravaged her and left her trembling as he finished full saddle

Then, as if nothing had happened
He rolled over and slept as if nothing had been

Whatever had changed
She didn’t understand

Time to back away and protect her heart
Maybe this relationship had run it’s course

Reviewing the events of the past few days
She could not find a single reason for his treason

This was his problem
The conclusion of her reflection

The clock was now ticking
He’d soon be spat out… even if kicking and screaming

“A little reflection”

What do you do
When your boo
Is ignoring you

When he just won’t say
And you’re not sure to stay
But you want you bae

You dress to impress
Not his sorry stress
But for your inner mistress

Give the boys a show
In full class… not a hoe
Pamper yo self and glow

Let him salivate
Let him pontificate
Let him feel captivate

Don’t devalue yourself
You’re no hot mess
You’re the empress

And just like that
Like a detox
He may switch hats

Realize he needs you
Hurst without you
Must have you

Then… when he caught you
Let him savor you
But after he makes it up to you

Funny how he lusts
And crave a fuss
To have you is a must

Just keep an eye open intuitively
Spend a little time reflectively
Watching the evidence proactively

This little withdrawal
Better not become habitual
You’re worth more than communal

You’re a queen
He best act like a king
Less you bounce like a bee

And leave a little reflection…

“A little reflection…”

Oh… you wanna play games
I see you… got your name

Strutting as if nothing
She turned heads better than a muffin
Watching him watching her from a distance
She didn’t let the signals confuse her any instant

If he wanted her
He’d have better pursue her
Woo her
Lust on her

But that’s ok though
Alex from around the way
Catching her sway
Appreciating every step of the way

Her dignity… now stronger

Couldn’t be bothered with indignity
Where was his integrity
She needed his words

Feel him grabbing her
Holding her close
But no. He was mute
Sitting as if all was cute
He had his parachute

She clicked her heels
Moved as if made of steel
Something would heal

She had a bit of time to reflect
Look back in retrospect
See if he would inflect

Suddenly… passionately
Her grabbed her romantically
Shared himself affectionately
Plunged lustfully

No rhythm
No rhyme
As if all sublime

Things moved along
As if nothing had gone wrong
What had had happen… none

Reflecting… she let it go
Whatever it was
It had best not come back
A little reflection…
