Always Ready. Never Sleep
Why do guys hurry to call it attitude?
Don’t they recognize an elevated altitude?
There is no time to mess around with ish
Life is too short to play games and be childish
Snap questions and spot inspection
Things he thought were needless interrogation
She knew his heart was no longer stayed on her
His lack of communication made clear his affection towards her
“Who was that texting you yet again?” she asked with bitterness
“Why you trippin’? It’s just business” he countered in bewilderedness
“Why you dressed all fine for?” he taunted
“Why do you care?” with sass she haunted
She had learned at the hands of careless men
Once a guy acts a bit funny, it is the decline to the end
Picking up her Xena mentality
She was ready to do battle any brutality
He was not the type to lay hands at all
Despite his tall height, it was the words she worried about
He could land a comment that would slice her heart wide open
She’d strike first blood before she let that happen
Without a care, she batted her eyes and flipped her hair
This man would not have time to hurt or use his flair
Boldly she struck at his core
One ax strike for herself, on mortal blow for all women
Always ready. Never sleep
Pro-actively she struck deep
Never let a man get the upper hand
Make sure he desires you way more than you do him is the golden plan
Looking close to his facial expression
For evidence of her blows effectiveness
His eyes read like the wilderness
Yet his hands touched her with continued tenderness
She used all her craft to smite at the core of his chest
But a dull echo retorted an cavernous barrier at best
Why was he keeping to himself?
Was she not enough for him all by herself?
Why would he seek counsel from Petra
All he had to do was lay his head on her lap and ask
The male ego was so infuriating a creature
She was not sitting around to be called upon at leisure
Always ready. Never sleep
If he wanted out, she already had his stuff packed
All this would end if only he would speak
She stayed woke and ready primed and peaked
The above poetry was the main point of the ‘story’ for today. Now, to share some of the ‘extra’ poetry that was shared on social media to promote this post… as a bit of bonus. The images will be shared after the rewrite as well.
“Always Ready. Never Sleep”
“I saw you talking to Lester”
“Why were you cozy with Esther”
Never mind that
Nobody got time for that
Never sleep. Always ready
She was watching him
Sitting all chill like nothing
Being nothing
Why was she tripping
Al this fuss and hissing
Whatever happened to loving and cherishing
No time for relaxing
Always ready. Never sleep
Gotta watch these fellas
They creep easy in cellars
Whispering sending empty letters
Why all this hating
No sense raging
Yet constantly debating
Always ready never sleep
But why she had to dress all cute tho
But why you had to touch my spot tho
Tenderly
Succulency
Sweetly
Romantically
Unleashing unholy
Feigning sinfully
Craving lustfully
Enjoying totally
But why he gotta be silent tho…
“Always Ready. Never Sleep”
I see you… boo
Just sitting… doing you
I can be cute too
Even play peekaboo
Life is too short to play games
Come correct
Or don’t come at all
No time for disrespect
Tired of this mess
Picking up her Xena mentality… she was ready
Her mindset was correct
Strike first before you get wrecked
Always ready. Never sleep
But then… he laid hands on her
With soft eyes of tenderness
Moved her soul into heated rest
Nah… son
Chill with that hon
After you called the other honeybun
Always Ready. Never Sleep.
She needed him to speak
