So… What’s Up?
For centuries, women paid the price for men’s happiness
Like, the ill fitting shoes, to bad sex, to body altering surgery
Men’s happiness was born on the backs of women’s silent servitude
Modern women are having no more of this foolery and nonsense
Enough is enough. We’re all grown-ups here
Her eyes darkened as her mood grew broodier
Her man was keeping something from her
Now, dressed for comfort in her hoodie
She didn’t have time to play footsie
He needed to understand how much hurt his silence was causing
Two could play this game. She wasn’t going to shoulder his blame
She was tired of the way men reveled in their privilege
She was taking full responsibility for her joy and happiness
Enough is enough. The door may just hit you on the way out, jack
For too long, women had to cater to men’s desires
Dress up to turn them on and sway their hips to keep his lips
Worse, women are expected to keep a relationship with a man
When clearly he’s not interested in doing any work
Just eager to park his dick wherever he’s not made to lick
Her eyes darkened as her mood grew hotter
Her man was keeping the most sacred from her
Now, dressed for comfort in her vans
She didn’t have time to play “keep a man”
For eons, women gave their souls to men
Only to have them trample over them as if no feelings got hurt
Two would play this game as she didn’t worry none about his reasons
If he wanted a relationship, he’d have to put his heart out
Pour it clear into her hands and let her do her best
Yet, this otherwise linguistically able man was silent as a lamb
He was ruining her with the deadly silent treatment
As if she was a common whore he could use and ignore
How she enjoyed being used, cuddled, and adored
But no. He sat dumb as can be. His fire for her burning out of reach
Her eyes darkened as her mood soured
Her man was keeping his heart from her
Now, dressed for comfort in her iconic tank
She didn’t have time to play detective
If it is too much to ask for a man to share his thoughts…
She’d rather go at life alone
She wasn’t asking for much
Just his emotional touch
So… what’s up?
Sharing a little of the poetry that graced the pages of social media… alerting followers of today’s new post. The experiment has been fun and interesting. We’re closing in on the end of the first part of the trilogy
“So…What’s Up?”
She took a talie
Wanted to know of age should rally
Then it became clear
Women have been giving
Too much really
If one is honest
The pain of beauty
Making sure you’re a hottie
Only to be ignored
By the one you adore
Enough self-torture
Women don’t need to be bothered
Men will be fine
They always find someway to dine
Parking the heels
Replacing them with sneakers
Rolling her hair into a bun
There was no reason for fun
She had awaken herself
Now it was time to take care of herself
He saw her change
This wasn’t part of the plan
Didn’t she understand
He was doing the best he can
She had hurt him deep
Could not risk getting caught weeping
Why must women make things difficult
After all…her rejection did leave a cut
But they weren’t talking
Too much time spent sulking
The darkness had fallen
He needed time to recover crestfallen
It was not fair that other women had suffered at the hands of men
But why must he pay for their sins
He was trying to atone for her misgivings
The nerves of him to deny her his heart
Can’t he understand…that’s all she ever wanted
So…what’s up?
“So… What’s Up?”
Nothing can be more vexing for a kitten
To find out she’s ignored by her daddy
All the sacrifices made
All the pain to remain tame
All the games played
To keep things beautiful and stayed
Women have made countless sacrifices
Tortured their bodies and psyches
Even pranced around in uncomfortable gowns
Squeezed in impossible shoes and bonds
All to savor the words of “good girl”
All to have unfettered access to his heart
She grew weary
She needed him dearly
But darkness had fallen
He was crestfallen
Keeping quietly to himself
Little did she know
He was tormented so
He was trying to protect her
Buy she didn’t want his armor
She needed his heart
He wanted to give her that
Instead…the mood grew dark
The two gloomed apart
Eventually….she would go.
Just like the fancy outfits of some time ago
So…what’s up?
