The Holiday Cheer

Right in the middle of a cool summer evening, after a long stretch of excessive heat, the phone buzzed to life. Belle was looking for an excuse to leave her place and find a cool air conditioned hang out spot.

It was her photographer.

Her heart raced a little. He was just silky smooth. He had a way of easing her mind and letting her inner beauty shine. He never judged, he never criticized. He always encouraged and moved at her pace.

He wanted to go take a few creative photos around the park. There was some lighting techniques he was going to test with his new lens. Belle felt good about this. That was a low pressure photo session. Just stand there and talk while he did whatever it was that photographers did.

The first test was straight forward. A few poses. Nothing fancy. Nothing out of the ordinary.

As the crowd of guys started to thicken, as it always does, Belle prepared to ward them off with a few choice words. However, her photographer was always a step ahead.

They relocated to the tennis court. There, he went to work furiously doing quite a shoot. Whatever he was testing, it was pretty intense.

The poor guy was working up a huge sweat.

The preview photos looked amazing. Her skin radiated perfectly. The sun kissing her and loving her. Her spirits was warming up. Little did her photographer know that she needed this photo session to forget the torments of work.

Holiday Cheer

At the end of the shoot, Belle watched with curiosity as her photographer fished around his backpack for something. He never carried his camera gear in that bag, always the other.

He eventually produced a pack of something that looked like a pair of nylon. The guy did have a fondness for skirts, heels, nylon, and everything pretty.

With his help, something totally new, she managed to get the knee highs on perfectly.

Now the shoot resumed in earnest. This time, he was very attentive to way more details than before. He spoke far less. He worked that much harder.

When they were done, he wished her an early Christmas. As in over six months early.

It would be a long time before she understood why.

During the darkest hours of her holiday season, she got an email. It was the glimmering beauty of her shiny black heels. Done to perfection. He had made her look her very best. He had never done such nice photos before.

He had grown a lot as a photographer. But more importantly, that was the exact pick-me-up that she needed. Her soul rejoiced. Her demons fled.

Belle got her much needed holiday cheer!
