Introduction to Tints

The place of characters in heels
In the very early days of creating art, the need to rapidly gain skills was met with the simple yet harsh reality of no excess cash. Without the means to invest in a quality photography education, the choices to get good was limited to just two. Get an apprenticeship or struggle to get good over time.
With the need to keep a day job, being a low paid intern holding equipment instead of shooting photos just didn’t make a whole lot of sense to the youthful impatience of the time. Going at this alone was the only thing that made sense. Just get out there and take as many pictures as you can. Hope for the best.
As luck would have it, the internet made reading up on techniques easier. However, good shots meant people wanted their prints or being paid for their time. Neither felt very enticing as budgets were tight.
The sheer brilliance that landed can’t be accounted for by this writer’s sharp mind. A lady. Yes. A lady.
A lady made the brilliant observation of taking photos that aren’t mainstream, are cute, fun, and original would capture a lot of volunteers. In her case, she had never had her shoes photographed before. Everyone wanted her face or her curves. If I could do something creative with her shoes, she’d volunteer some of her time. Off to the races from there.
In time, these friendships from model shoots paid off huge dividends. Both in terms of the skills and also in the understanding of the many currents that this blog is exploring. Several stories have been shared around the topic of heeling. Once, due to luck, the chance to run a very successful sight about women in high heels landed at the author’s doorstep. The network helped informed revisions in belief about networth. (made no money from administering that site… but got so many insights on how others were making off well from sales of photos)
Today, before resuming the photographic journey of life, taking time to showcase some of the lessons learned, some of the models who made this journey fun, and some of the stories behind the photos. Will it become more in the future? Who knows. For now, enjoying this epic chapter of running my very own blog(s)!
