The art of telling stories through the written word has always fascinated many. Being able to generate such an art often was quite intimidating. Does one write succinctly or allow the pen to flow long winding roads? Which method would most appeal to the ever shrinking attention span of the digital age?
As a novice writer, there was no good way to know if the efforts were successful or worthwhile as there was no way to get feedback on any penned thoughts. The scary wide world of blogging seemed the only logical place to test and learn in real time.
Reaching into the most private of thoughts, sharing them, being vulnerable, letting ideas mature, all a new practice that is changing the very fabric of the soul. Gathering a sample of thoughts for showcasing is an exercise in bravery, audacity, and hubris on levels unparalleled to this rookie writer.
In this project, there will be samplings of aspirations of the future as well as expansions of projects without a defined goal. In other words, here, there will be snippets of what will hopefully become material for the blog, inspiration for book publishing aspirations, as well as just samples to compare the growth curve of regular writing.
Unlike the core of the blog that explores the edges of many taboo topics, these sampling will go wherever the pen says to go. No restrictions. No genre limitations. Just the flow of memories, ideas, thoughts, reactions, and provocations.
In time, maybe a format will emerge, until then, the artist wields the pen as safely and broadly as possible in the pursuit of understanding of this bug for writing art.
