Nature Knows Best

As far as Alex was concerned, the hike was just the introduction to what would be the most awesome adventure to date. The extra pacing was very intentional. The extra long detours were well planned. There was a reason why all other cell-phones weren’t working. There was a reason why he had pressed her to keep a very high pace during the toughest climbs. It was to set up for the detour he would soon lay on her. One that would bring the relationship back on track with what they knew from their short dating life and hurried honeymoon. Alex needed to reset the relationship and let the natural course of romance thrive. After all, nature does know best.

Once Evelyn was nice and tired, his hands would go to work providing her a massage to relax her muscles. Once her body was at ease, it would be easy to transition things into a happier place. Once summited, the work would begin and the afternoon of passion would be set. There was a lot of things Alex would show Evelyn that would help her understand just how amazing her relationship was with him.

Their little tent lunch was beyond perfect. Evelyn was thrilled to have had a gorgeous view overlooking everything. Rolling lush hills on one side, rocky beautiful scenes on another side, the city and suburban skyline on the other, and a distant view of the ocean on the last side. This summit was just as awesome as it always was, but sharing this with Alex made it extra special. The fact that he had hidden a tent for them to use for lunch was extra touching and surprisingly turning her on. The food was all her favorite organics and chilled by a technology she didn’t understand.

Evelyn did not miss the detail of where Alex had hidden the tent and food storage at all. This was a well prepared stop. How did Alex know that today was their day to do this hike? She had only agreed to this the very night before, and very late at that.

This guy had planned everything. Maybe, just maybe she should have not pushed back so hard about his requests. It was still hot, but that high up, the humidity was not too bad, so the meal and chat was romantic. Evelyn took note that somehow he had managed to have power that could get a tiny microwave going to heat the food to the right temperature so it wasn’t cold. Now, this was just covering every single base of romance. How did she miss the memo that her desk jockey was also a secret woodsman?

To her surprise, Alex did not turn back for the post lunch walk. Instead, he took a commanding lead and pushed forward on the trail at the same fast pace of before. This hike was going to be the longest she’d ever done in one sitting. How could this paper pusher office worker that she loved and supposedly knew well have this much stamina under his hood? Not having much slow down moments to ask, Evelyn dutifully followed his lead until he eventually ducked into a wooded area off the path. With a huge smile he produced a small cabin well tucked into the woods and rocks. One would have easily walked by and not known it was a cabin.

Following with wide eyes of curiosity and growing arousal of discovery, Evelyn followed her man silently into the little place that was remarkably furnished. If she didn’t know better, it was the perfect tiny house. And the air was surprisingly cool. There was no sound of running a/c, so whatever was keeping the place chilled was not something she was familiar with.

5. Too Late to Head Back - Chapter - 5 - Time had run out on Evelyn and she was giving in to Alex. Alex had found the magic touch that ignited their passions. Now, the clock ticks and it becomes too late to head back. Things definitely has changed. The First Hike has Summit and things of old have washed out and left new romance to bloom
