Missed You

There are moments when words fail. Those moments need a bit of action to convey the truest meaning of what is being felt. However, don’t be fooled, words are vitally important. When you miss someone, say so. Saves you a lot of time and effort to relay that message. Nevertheless, words without actions do tend to ring quite hollow at times.

This post is set up to help readers not miss the pace (of weekly posting) too much. There are life events that just take more out of you than anticipated. This post is to wet the appetite a little as the scheduled post is actually postponed a bit.

Here is the reason why it’s being postponed. It’s a monster of a post. A huge story. One that hopefully will make someone smile a bit. Finally feeling comfortable enough with the writing skills to attempt this big effort. The plan is to release it later this week as a two part special. The release will happen across two blogs… don’t worry, even if you don’t follow “Love’s Perspective” you’re not going to miss out on the special… which is only for this blog

Without getting too long winded, let’s continue the topic at hand of being missed.

When Words Aren’t Enough

He had been careful not to appear rushed. She was tired. It had been a very long trip. She appreciated his meticulous attention to details, his care not to damage any of her luggage, and his smooth calm approach to setting up in the hotel room.

He knew her very well. She hated when he rushed her stuff. He had to keep calm. This was a long time in the making. Now was the big moment.

She knew that his normal routine was to take in the sights of the place. Drink up the atmosphere. He was probably going to go for a walk, not that she was in the mood to do more traveling. That was his thing. He liked to get the lay of the land memorized. The man always pretended he was some special ops type who needed to know all exit points. It was cute.

He never understood why she didn’t appreciate his efforts to ensure her safety. Not that they were ever in harm’s way. He just didn’t like going to someplace new and jumping straight to love making without having a basic understanding of where he was. It was his job to keep her safe even if she was very sure of her own abilities. He loved her sense of power. She was a devout feminist. He loved that. But chivalry was his job. One he took very seriously.

She took the time to dive into the bathroom to freshen up. The trip had been an ordeal she was quickly forgetting. The bed would have been a nice place to settle into, but she knew his preference. He wanted to go for a leisurely walk, a lovely chat about nothing. Then, after a bite to eat, he’d settle into the television as she caught up with her girlfriends. Then, the camera would come out to play. Then, yeah, then…

She was starting to blush.

He always wondered how a woman could have so many suitcases. It was a very short trip. All he had needed fit in his backpack. Yet, she had brought enough clothing and accessories to last nearly three weeks, best he could tell. For a single weekend, one in which they would devour room service and spend naked most of the time, this was a lot of extras.

The last run to get the last of the bags into the room had worked up his appetite. He loved his lady. She was such a gem and treasure in his world. She was worth every single bit of effort.

He saw her standing. Patiently watching him work as he maneuvered the luggages about and into the closet. There would be plenty of time to unpack later if she really felt the need to unpack. As far as he was concerned, they were all going to stay right where they were until their return trip back in two days. Two glorious days.

His hunger roared inside of him. He knew what her expectations were and he appreciated her effort to dress really cute to distract him from the expected normal.

She watched with appreciation how the man was built a little differently than she had last recalled. He had been to the gym. He had been taking care of himself. The pouch and donut ring were gone. The muscles moved in tight formation as he did his tidying. Tonight was going to be fun, especially if she could hurry him up from his reconnaissance deal.

Satisfied with his work, his eyes shifted focus and darkened in tint. He straightened up and unfurled his fullest height. His thoughts clear and focused, his basic instinct ready to unleash, he held his smile in check.

She watched him stand erect. It was cute. It was endearing. He did that every now and again. Not sure what he was thinking, she always assumed he was just trying to feel his youth and pretend to be a Navy Seal. That usually happened before he went out and scouted the premises. How dear of him to feel he could protect her better than law enforcement could.

She noticed that her body temperature was rising fast. Her awareness of his presence was starting to fill the room and squeeze her against the wall behind her. That had never happened before. Not like this. Not this early in the afternoon. Not this soon after getting to the hotel room.

She was definitely missing him. But, this much?

She watched him slowly, well not that slowly, but slowly turn. Her breath snatched out of her forcefully as her eyes made contact with his. Her heart quickened. Her knees felt week. All of sudden, standing in her heels felt like an exorbitant effort. His gravitational pull was tugging her forward and teetering her way over the tips of her toes.

  1. Wow!!! Love it! Love how they both know each other so well until one changes the rules and ups the intensity, moves the boundaries. The subtle nuances that get misses until it is too late. Spicy indeed! Absolutely enjoyed the “miss you” that pushed the results even higher. Well done!!!
